Bruno Valdemar Gustafsson was born in the Swedish speaking town of Tenala/ Tenhola. A labourer by trade, he lived in the Finnish capital of Helsinki.

Called up during additional refresher training, he was assigned to Heavy Artillery Battalion 4. The unit was deployed to support the Finnish efforts at Taipale. On the morning of the 25th December, the Soviets launched another assault against the Finnish defenders. Artillery fire landed in the area of Heavy Artillery Battalion 4, mortally wounding Private Bruno Valdemar Gustafsson.

He was evacuated to the 10th Field Hospital but unfortunately succumbed to his wounds.
